Good tips for staying focused on track and achieving your goals part 2

Tip #6:
Create a Block Schedule

Create hour blocks in your workday where you focus on a single task or a chunk of like-tasks.

During that block of time, nothing else gets your attention, except the task or tasks in front of you. (Remove all other distractions by clearing your desk, turning off your phone, closing email, etc.)

At the end of the block (1, 2, 3 or 4 hours) whatever was on your calendar is now finished.

Let it go and move on to the next scheduled task.

Tip #7:
Ready-Set-Go!

For intense task completion, use a timer and set it for 5, 10, 15, 20 or 30 minutes.

Using a timer allows you to create a game or healthy competition against the clock - giving your focus and energy an edge.

You'd be surprised how much you can accomplish when you create a fun or somewhat competitive environment.

Tip #8:
Do What You Do Best, Delegate the Rest

You should only be focusing on the tasks that you complete with the greatest efficiency, effectiveness and results.

Everything else should be delegated to a team member, assistant, or virtual assistant who produces the best results.

Could someone else do what I'm doing, if I just assigned it to them, told them how or gave them a process to get it done.

Too many entrepreneurs I talk to hold on to things way too long just because they have always done them.

Successful entrepreneurs are good delegators!

Tip #9:
Leverage Your Peak Energy

Each person has their own unique time of the day when they are at their peak energy.

Whether you're an early bird or night owl, tackle the tasks that require the most energy and focus to complete during your unique peak energy - you'll get more done in less time with optimal results.

When is the best time to get the best result for the various activities you do each day ?

Tip #10:
Eat Healthy for Real Energy

Being an entrepreneur requires real energy; sugar, caffeine, and processed foods only offer a false energy and the afternoon energy crash can be severe.

Reduce or eliminate sugar, caffeine, and processed foods as much as possible, while boosting raw fruits, vegetables, nuts and whole grains to maintain steady and consistent high energy.

Some studies suggest having a small snack/meal every 2-3 hours.

Review these 11 tips and decide which ones you will implement first for even greater success.

Good tips for staying focused on track and achieving your goals part 1

As an entrepreneur, there are things you must do in order to accomplish your goals so you can have the kind of business and life you have dreamed of having.

From managing a team to handling clients - and everything in between - it can be easy to lose complete control of your day.

We all have the same 24 hours available each day; it's how we chose to use those 24 hours that's makes the difference.

Meetings, client services, and a To Do List a mile long are frequent daily tasks in the world of running a business.

The key is find an effective way to handle our daily routine to stay focused and on track to achieve your goals in the shortest amount of time and the least amount of effort.

Tip #1:
Break Goals Down Into Daily Action Steps - and Track Them

Somewhere between running a business and having a personal life, it's not uncommon for our goals to fall by the wayside.

Sure, we write out a Goal List, but it ends up at the bottom of a large stack of papers on our desk or filed away in a drawer.

If you are not paying attention to your goals on a daily basis, you're probably taking the long way around.

Break goals down into daily action steps and put them into your daily calendar/diary/planner.

Those action steps should be labeled high priority and handled as early on in the day as possible, or at the best time that leads to the best result.

No excuses.

Tip #2:
Remove Distractions and Interruptions From Your Life

Wasting time on low priority tasks is one of the most common sources of interrupting your success.

Email , texting , social media , internet surfing , personal phone calls , chatting etc , are time wasters for many of us.

Work hours should be reserved for work.

Distractions need to be a thing of the past and not the present, if you want to achieve your goals in the timeframe you have set.

(Close email and internet outside specific time blocks.)

Turn off the ringer on your phone or filter calls through a team member.

Remove paperwork that you are not currently working on from your sight.)

Create a system that works best for you , and stick to it.

Consistent execution of new habits that put you in the highest probability position to make better progress so you can create the business and life you want is key.

Tip #3:
Be Aware of Sabotaging Habits

No one is ever completely free of self-sabotaging habits, which is why it's important to be aware of your tendencies.

When you are aware of your sabotaging habits, you can easily spot them - and stop them - from distracting you from your success.

Whether you create procrastination, overwhelm, emotional crisis, physical exhaustion, relationship drama - or a host of other common habits - you're creating self-sabotage.

Achieving your goals becomes a lot easier when you can spot troublesome habits, and consciously and quickly get yourself back on track.

Tip #4:
Get Clear on the Why

When you get clear on why you're working on any particular task, you can intellectually grasp whether you really need to be doing it at all or having someone else do it.

Tip #5:
Chunk Like-Tasks Together

Prep time and pre-task setup can eat up huge amounts of your time, so chunk like-tasks together. Another benefit to chunking?

Multi-tasking and jumping between tasks reduces your brain’s ability to maintain focus, effectiveness and efficiency.

Examples of chunking your time include:

Along this same line of thinking, consider scheduling time to really prepare for the meeting on your calendar (5 minutes, 10 minutes, 15 minutes).

This helps to ensure you have the right way of being to get the result you want and make sure you aren't thinking of something you just finished or anything else.

Also, schedule time after your meeting to complete any actions you need to so you don't have to try and remember them later in the day, two days later, or at the end of the week.

Get things done and the move on to the next meeting with a clear head for that meeting.

8 useful tips to win over a boomer boss or colleague

I have been hearing from Gen X and Gen Y that they are experiencing more communication breakdown than ever before with their boomer bosses and colleagues.

Gen Xers are experiencing high levels of frustration because their boomer bosses are not planning on retiring any time soon.

It also appears to Gen X that their boomer colleagues are unwilling to share their knowledge or be supportive team players.

Gen Y also find challenges with their boomer bosses and colleagues- they feel that their viewpoints are readily dismissed and that the generalizations about Gen Y have created a negative bias from the boomers.

So what are you to do if you are a Gen X or Gen Y working with boomers?

Here are 8 ways to win over and get along better with your boomer boss or colleague:

1. Put yourself in the shoes of the boomer and remember a few things about their reality such as they have worked hard to get where they are .

They have a sense of entitlement based on their time on the job and they do not like change for the sake of change.

2. Help your boomer workmate to look good .

If you compete with them they will naturally go into reactive and protective behavior.

You will get far with a boomer if you 'appeal to their ego' in a sincere and caring way.

3. Offer to make their lives easier with your technological knowledge.

Boomers want to use technology to make-work easier but they learn best when shown how to use technology and they appreciate your innate technological knowledge.

4. When presenting your ideas do not 'diss' how it's been done or imply that the current methods are archaic and outdated.

Instead compliment how the current system has worked and how your ideas will enhance and simplify what they have been working with.

5. Approach your boomer boss or colleague with their personality in mind.

Even though they may be of a certain generation they are individuals with unique preferences.

If your boomer boss is a driver personality then make sure you keep your sentences short and sweet and get to the point quickly.

6. Resist the urge to see your boomer boss or co-worker as a parental figure.

If your boss or colleague reminds you of your mother or father you may subconsciously behave in a way that can come across as patronizing or disrespectful.

7. Have a heart to heart conversation with your boomer boss or co-worker and share with them your desire to get along better.

It is good to understand where they are coming from and to come up with mutual understanding of expectations.

8. Deepen your understanding of what your boomer boss or co-worker may be up against in trying to keep up to all of the technological changes and workplace changes.

Boomers have grown accustomed to 'formal' work environments and protocol is a big part of how they interact.

It is a big change for them to have a more casual, relaxed and openly sharing work style.

Can vs Can't

It is my personal opinion that there are two words that are the driving force behind your personally achieving your ultimate outcome and your why in life.

These two words are the most powerful words that you can and will ever speak to yourself about any situation – “Can” and “Can’t” .

As I’ve said many times, “Can” is a word of power; whereas, “Can't” is a word of retreat.

You have the power to decide if you wish to achieve or retreat, because when you speak victory words such as “I can”, you will attain whatever you set out to do regardless of what others are saying to you.

I can attest to the fact that if you spoke with each of them individually, they would tell you that in the beginning of their journey the majority of people told them , "you Can't do that!".

Fortunately, they disregarded these statements and listened to their inner voice, who said, “Oh yes I Can!”

The key in life is to realize the most important person who speaks to you every day is you on the inside!

You need to review your why in life and see if your are on track toward achieving your why, or are you on a detour because someone told you, “You Can't do that so stop dreaming and just forget about it!”

As a personal mindset builder, you need to speak to your inner person and say to yourself:

“Today I will take another productive stride!”

Each morning, I visualize myself winning.

My personal outcome for each day is to build a community of people who we can inspire and motivate all of us to make the world a better place in which to live.

I have to admit if it was not for my inner person saying, “you can do it! You Can do it!”.

I may not be in the position of success that I am today.

Some days it is still difficult, but guess what ..we ARE doing it!

I am personally very proud and appreciative of the people who have stepped up to the plate and made individual contributions of talent and time.

In summary, you need to ask yourself a very honest question:

“Am I listening to my victory words from the inside or am letting the outer defeat (loser) words control my outcome in life?”

The value of self discipline in life

The Temptation To Live An Undisciplined Life

In today’s society we live in a world where temptations are everywhere.

We have TV, video games and sports to ensure we never get bored.

So is it any wonder that people struggle to focus on their school work, their jobs or their relationships?

After all, why should you do something which is boring or hard, when you can do something that’s easy and fun instead?

Well the reality is you don’t have to do boring stuff and work hard, no one is forcing you to do that. .

Although if you choose not to do these things it is very likely that your school grades, job or relationships will suffer as a result.

Why?

Because the things that are worth having in life, the things that have real long term value and meaning, are often the things that require time, effort and hard work.

But if we live in a society that makes having fun so easy, how can we focus on obtaining the things that really matter in life, when temptations make it so easy to do otherwise?

Self Discipline In Life

The answer to this question is self discipline.

Discipline is the ability to force yourself to do something that you know you must do, even if you don’t feel like it. In other words, discipline allows a person to resist the temptation of TV, video games and sports.

Thereby allowing them to concentrate on their school work, jobs and relationships.

The things that really matter and add value to your life.

At the risk of sounding like a bore, I don’t mean to say that discipline means you can’t have fun in life.

No, that would be silly.

We all need time for fun and entertainment, but there must be a balance, otherwise you will most likely fail to succeed in life.

This is the reason self discipline is so important in life, especially in today’s society which is constantly tempting us to choose the easy way out.

Developing Self Discipline

Whilst practicing self discipline may require lots of hard work and a strong will to master.

Eventually the more you discipline yourself to resist succumbing to the temptations of life, the more your self discipline will strengthen. In turn this makes it easier to apply discipline in the future.

So developing self discipline is just like any other skill in life.

At first it will be hard, but the more you practice the stronger and easier it will become.

In a world that is made up of largely undisciplined and lazy people (especially those living in developed countries) having strong self discipline will give you an enormous advantage in life.

The power of imagination

While reading some very informative information on the internet, I came across a really intriguing concept of creativity and imagination.

In it’s application to marketing strategies, imagination is often one of the most powerful aspects that can be applied to internet business ventures.

In just a few words, I’ll explain the power that lies within the use of creativity and imagination.

Keep in mind that nothing “under the sun” is new.

Everything in existence has always existed, and facts and substances are continually changing and shifting.

All that is necessary to exercise creativity is to borrow from what already exists and rearrange the material into new combinations.

This process is called Imagination.

Now imagination in it’s nature is both interpretative and creative.

This means that it can receive impressions and ideas, and it can also use these impressions and ideas to form new combinations of the same.

So, any person of average intelligence can take information from endless sources and transform this information into endless new combinations.

Having infinite new combinations or ideas is, without debate, one of the most valuable tools a person can possess in their business.

A remarkable example of how this concept has been applied, can be found by examining the efforts of Thomas Edison.

The invention of the incandescent electric light bulb was nothing more than a combination of two old, well known principles.

He then simply arranged the two principles into a new combination.

So you can see, both the simplicity and the power in the concept of creativity and imagination.

Therefore, in each of your business transactions, it is very important for you to apply this powerful concept .

It can be done by prompting your imagination to make new connections between multiple principles and apply them to things that are unique to your situation.

The simpler the better!

How to have beautiful life in this crazy world

When you go out, look at the people around you.

Don’t they look like they’re in a hurry to get somewhere?

When you ask your friends out for a gathering, do you often get, “Sorry, I’ve got an appointment, or
I’ve a meeting on that day”?

Many people are chronically busy nowadays.

They all have the compulsion to be successful as fast as possible.

And to achieve that, they figure they have to compress five years of work into one, by moving five times faster!

So they rush – developing a hard-nosed edge, sacrificing personal time and relationships, to get as much done as they can.

But despite their earnest and wholehearted attempt to be successful, they often waste their effort because they lose their sense of direction – focusing on the trees, but failing to notice the forest – they end up running in circles.

If you don’t occasionally stop running and look up at the stars, how will you know which way is North?

In real terms, this means you have to set some time everyday to stop, and reflect.

How to manifest dreams

Lets face it, we all have dreams.

And we all want to know how to manifest dreams.

We had dreams since we were young and since that time we wanted to know how to manifest dreams.

We lived our dreams in our imagination.

We were brimming with confidence and were sure that one day we would manifest our dreams.

However sadly for most of us, it all ended when we grew up.

Why?

Because the world and all its instruments, including our parents and teachers told us that our dreams are just not possible.

So we gave up on our dreams and followed the paths that were laid out for us.

Some became doctors, others became teachers and some others followed other professions.

However there were those who were determined to manifest their dreams.

They defied the establishments and followed their passion.

They became sports stars, musicians and still others became artists and actors.

When we look at these people they show us something which is a key ingredient in learning how to manifest dreams.

They all have a passion for what they are doing.

They have discovered what they love and they started doing it and found that they are actually good at it.

And very soon other people noticed it too and started supporting them by wathing their games and movies and buying their music.

There’s something else that these people have and that we too had when we were young.

It is “imagination.”

They imagined their dreams, which is necessary if you want to know how to manifest dreams.

Imagination is very important for manifesting dreams, because it allows you to experience something before you can actually have it.

If you want to know how to manifest dreams you must realize that all reality starts in the mind.

The architect cannot construct a building if he hasn’t designed it.

And he cannot design something if he hasn’t seen it in his mind.

Similarly you cannot manifest your dreams if you cannot see it first.

But seeing is not enough.

It needs to become tangible.

You need to hear it, feel it and touch it.

Next you need to affirm it with emotion in the present or past tense.

That indeed it is so.

Another thing that is necessary if you want to know how to manifest dreams is to listen to yourself and following your gut.

That small voice inside you that may tell you to go left when everybody shouts, “go right!”

Following your dreams seems daunting, especially if you’re surrounded by negative people.

However, if you give up on your dreams you may end your life with regrets.

Isn’t it better to see how far you can go.

Where you may end up?

In case you’re thinking who am I to want to be great and famous, let me remind you of the famous words of Maryanne Williamson.

Who are you, not to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?

Now that you know how to manifest dreams, you have no excuse not to manifest yours.
